How This Cider is Made
This is a special cider made with black raspberries (black caps). These berries are often found when hiking, and ripen in late July and early August. The first batch of Dark Cider the Moon was made with foraged black raspberries and every following batch has been made with berries grown from the seeds of that first batch. Since they’re not naturally cultivated, he decided to forage and then cultivate them himself for everyone’s enjoyment. These berries have been a lifelong favorite of Mountain Mac’s, so he knew he had to make them into a cider.
Sippin’ Tips
This cider is dark, carrying the color of the black raspberries, and is meant to be served on ice or just icy cold. It is a great cider anytime of year, but is refreshing on a hot day. This cider is exceptionally dry and intense, with complex apple cider flavors first and beautiful fragrant notes of black raspberry to follow. This pairs well with poultry, fish and vegan dishes. It also stands well on its own.
